Strong first-quarter growth of +5.52% in Bali, confirming its attractiveness as a real estate destination

Bali’s economic momentum continues to deliver positive surprises as we enter 2025. According to the latest data from the Provincial Statistics Agency, the island recorded a GDP growth of 5.52% in the first quarter, standing 13% above the national average. This performance reflects not only the resilience of Bali’s local economy but also its growing appeal to investors — especially those in the real estate sector.

Tourism: The Cornerstone of Economic Growth
As expected, tourism remains the key driver of Bali’s economic expansion. Accommodation, food services, and related industries account for 21.23% of the island’s economic activity. This is further supported by complementary sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, and forestry (13.62%), and transportation and logistics (10.15%), all of which benefit from the steady influx of tourists and foreign residents.

Macro-Economic Stability Fostering Investment
Bali’s solid growth is underpinned by strong fundamentals:

  • Government spending surged by 13.5%, enhancing infrastructure and public services.
  • Exports of goods and services increased by 6.5%, underscoring the island’s openness and competitiveness.
  • Household consumption rose by 5.3%, boosting domestic demand.

Only the manufacturing sector saw a marginal decline of 0.09%, a minor adjustment in an otherwise robust economic landscape.

A Strategic Opportunity for Property Investors
This economic performance, driven by sustained tourism demand and active government initiatives, creates a highly favorable environment for real estate investment in Bali. The rise in accommodation and hospitality services reflects an increasing need for vacation rentals, investment villas, and commercial spaces tailored to a growing international clientele.

Additionally, improvements in transport infrastructure and the diversification of economic sectors continue to attract expatriates, remote workers, and entrepreneurs seeking secondary residences or long-term investment opportunities.

Investing in Bali today means tapping into a thriving market where rental returns, rising demand, and economic dynamism align to offer a secure and promising investment landscape.
